Brittany Mahomes, wife of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, was inducted into the University of Texas at Tyler Athletics Hall of Fame on October 19, 2024, as part of the class of 2024.[1]
Mahomes starred for the UT Tyler Patriots women's soccer team from 2013 to 2016, scoring 31 goals and recording 14 assists in 70 appearances.[1][2]
In her senior season in 2016, under head coach Kelley Webb, she scored 18 goals in 18 games—a then-program record—with 12 of those goals coming from four hat tricks.[1][2]
As part of the induction ceremony over the October 18-19 weekend, the current UT Tyler women's soccer team received new Team Mahomes kits and cleats featuring the Team Mahomes Gladiator symbol.[1]
Following college, Mahomes played professionally for UCD Waves FC in Ireland's Women's National League during the 2017 season.[2]
In 2020, Brittany and Patrick Mahomes became founding co-owners of the National Women's Soccer League franchise Kansas City Current.[3]
The couple, who attended Whitehouse High School together in Whitehouse, Texas, have two children.[2]
In an Instagram post announcing the honor, Mahomes wrote: "Truly honored to be inducted into the UT Tyler Athletics Hall of Fame! This City and this School is a huge part of who I am today, I will forever cherish this honor and am forever grateful for what this program did for me as an athlete and as a person! Coach Webb, you brought out the best in me, this doesn’t happen without you!"[1]
